The Palm Beach Atlantic women’s soccer team earned just their third win of the 2017 season on Friday, beating the Florida Tech Panthers 2-1 at West Palm Beach. It was the second win in the conference for PBA.

The Sailfish got on the board early, when Taylor Frizen was taken down in the box and earned a penalty kick at the 3:17 mark of the match. The Penalty kick was taken by Kayla Fisher, who beat Panthers goalie Karlyn Prisco and gave her squad a 1-0 lead.

At the 23:04 mark of the first half, Prisco gave way to backup goaltender Natalia Milashus, who finished the half. She was not forced to make a save in that first half.

The Sailfish held that lead at the half, despite Florida Tech outshooting them 6-3 in the first 45 minutes.

Milashus started the second half in goal and the defense kept her clean. Meanwhile, the offense got going with Elin Svensson scoring the equalizer in the 62nd minute. With the game even, FIT coach Dustin Smith decided to put Prisco back in the net with 22:24 remaining in the game.

Prisco watched a couple shots sail over her head and the Panthers had a couple of their shots sail high as well and the teams remained tied with time running short. Shannon Berg changed all that when she beat Prisco on a shot with 4:25 remaining in the contest.

Florida Tech (7-7-2, 4-5-1 SSC) could not find another opening against Sailfish goaltender Isabelle Granlund, who finished with three saves.
