The Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish came to Rick Stottler Field Saturday night, riding a three-game win streak, all of those shutouts. Florida Tech put an end to those streaks with a 3-0 win in the first Sunshine State Conference match of the season for both teams.

Maria Munoz got the Panthers on the board early, scoring her fourth goal of the season 11:13 into the match. She scored from just outside the box, beating PBA goalie Madison Chiola.

Munoz got an assist 3:35 later when she fed Elisabeth Stoffel who found the back of the net with her third goal of the season.

The Panthers held a 6-3 advantage in shots at the end of the first half. Chiola made four saves. Eight of FIT’s 10 shots were on goal.

Veronica Thordardottir scored 18:04 into the second half, giving the Panthers a 3-0 lead, beating her defender one-on-one and launching a shot from just outside the 18-yard box.

Panthers goalie Maria Sanchez Recuero earned her first shutout of the season, recording three saves.

Florida Tech (3-3-1, 1-0 SSC) did not earn a corner in this match, while PBA had three.
