Florida Tech baseball got their second straight win over Bentley on Saturday, beating the Falcons 17-7. This win comes on the heels of a 16-5 win on Friday.

The Panthers (5-1) reeled off 16 hits in Saturday’s win. Dylan Dohanos (4-for-5), Brett Parrish (4-for-5), and Paul Castillo (4-for-6) led the hit parade. Alec Eldridge and Sam Schner had three hits each.

That offensive output started early with the Panthers putting five on the board in the bottom of the first. Castillo had an RBI single, Dylan Owens had a sac fly, and Eldridge had a single to make it 3-0. Schner had the big blow in the inning with a two-run double.

Bentley would get one back in the second inning but Owens extended the lead to 7-1 with a two-run double in the bottom of the inning. Hayden Kimball doubled to start the third and came home on a Schner single. Dohanos would bring Schner home with a single later in the inning, giving the Panthers a 9-1 lead.

Florida Tech starter Mitchell Harding gave up two runs in the top of the fourth but rebounded in the fifth to strike out two. Parrish had a two-run double in the fifth to give the Panthers an 11-3 lead.

Harding came back out to start the sixth but gave up two singles and a walk to load the bases. He walked the next batter to make it 11-4, before giving way to Andrew Dunham. Two RBI groundouts went on Hardings’ line, making it 11-6. Daniel Vassallo came in to finish the inning.

Harding (1-0) went five innings, allowing six runs on eight hits. He walked three and struck out three, throwing 57 of his 84 pitches for strikes.

Florida Tech got two runs back in the bottom of the inning stemming from an error and a Dohanos triple, making it 13-6. Schner reached on a fielder’s choice, allowing another run to cross the plate for run number 14.

A home run by Jackson Walonis in the top of the eight made it 14-7 but Florida Tech got three back in the bottom of the frame. Dohanos singled and came home on a triple by Castillo. A sac fly by Parrish made it 16-7, and Austin Sewell came in as a pinch hitter and tripled home the final run of the game.
