Liam Hastings plays baseball for the Cocoa Beach Minutemen and will be heading into his junior year. He was a member of the Brevard Aces 14U team that won the 2018 PGBA Tournament title and he backed that up by earning a spot on the All-Tournament team at the 2019 PGBA 16U Summer Kickoff as a member of PBC Elite North Bukowski.

As a freshman with the Minutemen in 2018-19, Hastings had 31 at-bats hitting .290 with seven RBIs and five runs scored. He also pitched an inning that season in a game against Titusville, facing four batters and allowing one hit.

Liam’s sophomore baseball season was limited to five games, due to the shutdown of all spring sports at Cocoa Beach and other schools in Brevard County. He made the most of those five games, hitting .308 with three of his four hits being doubles. He also knocked in four runs.

On February 18 in a 14-4 win over Space Coast, Liam went 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored.

As an infielder he had a sparkling .971 fielding percentage, earning putouts on 30 of 34 total chances, to go along with three assists.

We wish Liam the best of luck when baseball resumes in 2021.
