BSN FUTURE STAR COURTNEY SIMPKINS – HERITAGE BASKETBALL/VOLLEYBALL

Heritage High School’s Courtney Simpkins just finished her sophomore year. She was on the junior varsity basketball team last season, this year got her first taste of varsity action in basketball, as well as volleyball.

The Panthers went 22-7 this basketball season, bowing out in the 5A Regional Semifinals against Jones, a 58-56 loss back on February 18.

Simpkins played in 22 games this past season, averaging just over two points a game, just shy of one rebound a game and one steal. She had a season-high 12 points against Merritt Island in December, going 5-for-9 from the field. She dropped in 10 points against Satellite in January, helping her team to victory in both of those contests.

Simpkins played 47 sets this past season for the volleyball team, contributing 48 digs, 32 kills, and 16 aces for a Panthers team that went 14-10 overall. She had a season-high seven kills against Merritt Island Christian late in the season, helping the Panthers to a 3-0 victory.

Courtney is certainly coming into her own in both sports and we look forward to what promises to be a bright future.
