Remiti Scores as Panthers Tie SLU

The Florida Tech Panthers played to a double-overtime draw on Saturday at Saint Leo, with each team managing a goal in 110:00 minutes of soccer.

Julien Remiti gave the Panthers the lead 22:37 into the match as he got a right foot shot past SLU goalie Riccardo Zarri, who had four saves in the match. Florida Tech had 15 total shots, with five on goal.

Saint Leo’s Noah Kvifte found the equalizer with 9:32 left in the first half as he beat Panther netminder Luis Tovar Romero, to tie the game 1-1. Each team managed just two shots on goal in the first half with one going in for each side.

The Panthers (5-4-1, 2-3-1 SSC) had one shot in each of the overtime periods and Zarri had to make one save in the second overtime on a shot from Stian Olsen in the 104th minute. It was the last of Olsen’s three shots and his first of the match on goal. 

Guillermo Segovia Marcos led the Panthers with four shots, two on goal.
